Art Foster | Strategy Advisor

Art Foster is a Strategy Advisor to the leadership team at Neuronoff, Inc.

Art started his career developing cardiac and neuromodulation leads at Cordis in 1977 where he managed engineering groups that supported the design and manufacturing of pacemaker leads for permanent and temporary lead designs, mapping catheters, introducer tooling designs and more. After his first ten years at Cordis, Art joined Sulzer Intermedics for the next 6 to head their pacing lead development program resulting in leads that are still performance leaders in 2022.

As a next step, Art joined St. Jude Medical (SJM) in the role of Director of Quality Systems at the Corporate Level for the Company, and Quality Systems Leader for each Division. He assisted in the due diligence process for major acquisitions, and developed a Quality System that linked all Divisions. In this role at SJM, he was the first point of contact for government communications and interactions.

Following other Corporate Level leadership positions, Art joined Boston Scientific (BSX) where he would eventually become Senior Fellow for Leads and PG Mechanical Design. Given his experience, his roles ranged from mechanical design of pacemakers to implantable hardware, to leads. He led the MRI compatibility work for BSX cardiac and neuro leads. Other activities include chairing several patent review boards and assisting sister-divisions with problem solving and complex projects. Art received the Sage Award in 2016, the highest BSX Technology Award.

At Neuronoff, Art is providing strategic advice to R&D, QA , IP, and manufacturing. His leadership is influencing the team’s decisions from the early prototyping phase all the way to optimized designs for manufacturing, sterilization, shipping and storage of product. His 44 years in designing, testing and commercialization of medical products provide the team with the wisdom to know what is necessary and when, but likewise, which steps are unnecessary and would only generate inefficiencies.

Art holds a BS/MS in Physics from Purdue University and is inventor on 110+ granted patents.
