Dr. Chakravarthy is a member of the Clinical Advisory Board at Neuronoff, Inc.

Dr. Krishnan Chakravarthy M.D., Ph.D. is a world-renowned thought leader in the pain space.  

He is currently the President and Co-founder of Coastal Research Institute (CRI) which is one of the premiere neuroscience and pain institutes in Southern California.  He is also a partner at Coastal Pain and Spinal Diagnostics Medical Group.  He continues to be an affiliate faculty at UCSD Department of Pain Medicine and Nanoengineering as well as a staff physician at VA San Diego Healthcare System.  

Dr. Chakravarthy is the author of >100 papers publications, >50 abstracts and book chapters, >300 regional, national, and international talks. He is a National & International Award Winner in Pain Medicine. He regularly receives the Top Physician Awards nationally for excellence in medicine and clinical care. Dr. Chakravarthy currently sits on the editorial board of several national and international peer-reviewed journals. Expertscape's PubMed-based algorithms placed Dr. Chakravarthy in top 0.1% of scholars writing about Pain Management over the past 10 years defining him as a "World Expert.” His research work has been published in top journals including Anesthesiology, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and Pain Medicine. His research work has been also featured in Times of India, International Business Times, Futurity, NewsMedical, and other national and international news venues.  He has been involved in pioneering several first clinical cases in the United States. 

Dr. Chakravarthy has a history of success stories launching multiple biotechnology startups from his research work and taking paradigm-shifting technologies to market. He has raised substantial direct and indirect funding through private and public agencies. Companies he founded include NanoAxis, NXTSTIM, Accufix Medical, Douleur Therapeutics which have proved the bench-to-bedside model. He serves on the advisory board of several fortune 500 medical device and pharmaceutical companies.  He has been an integral part of multiple successful product launches across the pain industry.  Dr. Chakravarthy is an avid innovator and believes that great technology should provide greater access.

Dr. Chakravarthy received his Doctor of Medicine and his Doctor of Philosophy from University of Buffalo. He further holds a Bachelor of Biological Sciences University of Chicago. He completed his residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, and Pain fellowship at Harvard/Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Chakravarthy sits on the Executive Board and committees of the major pain societies such as American Society of Pain and Neuroscience (ASPN), International Neuromodulation Society (INS), and Pacific Spine and Pain Society (PSPS).
